Milk And Yogurt Storage Time

              Milk And Yogurt Storage Time

Milk and yogurt are no longer foreign to Malaysian diets. Milk contains calcium and Vitamin D, in addition to three micronutrients which make it a 'complete and balanced' meal of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. Therefore, everyone should drink a glass of milk a day to get calcium.

Yogurt also has many benefits. For example, strengthening the bones, whitening teeth, can lose weight and more. Yogurt is always a favorite among women because it is one of the diet diets to lose weight.

So milk and yogurt are now a favorite food of many people. But, do you know how much time it takes to store milk and yogurt at home? It is an old expiration date, but what if it is already open? How long has it been?

Let us share real-time info on milk and yogurt storage. This info was shared by Dr. Asmah. Clinic Dr. Asmah is located in Sungai Petani, Kedah. It offers a variety of services especially for pregnant women. It also offers 'service' for ordinary patients such as diabetes, hypertension, fever and more.

Duration of storage of each type of milk and yogurt
UHT milk
Box not yet open - Hold until the expiry date
If open - keep in the refrigerator. Hold for 3 days
If opened and placed outside- it should be consumed within an hour.
Bottle milk or box
Unopened - hold up to expiration date or 5 days after purchase (whichever comes first), if kept in the refrigerator.
If open - hold up to 3 days if stored in the refrigerator.
Yogurt
Unopened - hold up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator
If open - finish within an hour. If the pack is large, take the required quantity and put it back in the refrigerator. Hold up to 5
7 days if stored in the refrigerator.
Milk powder
Unopened - can hold up to 2 years at room temperature.
Once opened (refill) comes in an old can - lasting 3 months.
When mixed, hold for up to 3 days if placed in the refrigerator. If parked outside, finish within an hour.
* Each type of milk and yogurt has a storage period after opening. Preferably, they are kept in the refrigerator for longer than if they were placed outside after opening. If it is over 3 days, it is best to throw it away because the milk is already bad. Hope this info benefits you and your loved ones.
